National park Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici

: The only national park of Catalonia is known for its many lakes and waterfalls. The wildlife includes beavers and otters. The base for walks in the area is the village of Espot.

Aran Valley

: Isolated valley in the extreme northwest of the province, with an Atlantic climate. The park is known for its many butterfly species and woodpeckers. In addition to winter sports it is a suitable hiking place.
