Plaza Mayor

: Large square built by Felipe III in 1617. At the square are many restaurants and bars located. It is also the place for street performers.

Royal Palace

: This is the work-palace from 1755 of the current king of Spain and should not be missed in your city or weekend trip to Madrid.

Las Ventas

: The bull ring of 1931 in Mudéjar style with a capacity of 25,000 people locates now also a museum> It is situated in the eastern part of the capital of Spain.

Puerta del Sol

: The Sun Gate Square is the central square in Madrid where the zero point (Point Zero) of Spain is located. It is the meeting-spot for Madrid. Also on the square, the symbol of Madrid (flag) the four-meter-high beer (with tree) is present (Oso y Madroño).

Prado museum

: One of the most important art museums in the world. The museum built in 1785 has works by Botticelli, Raphael, Rubens, Dürer, Velazquez, Goya, El Greco and Rembrandt.

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía

: Museum opened in 1992 for the public in the district Atocha with (Spanish) modern art including Picasso (Guernica), Salvador Dalí, Miró and Lichtenstein.

Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza

: Originally this museum was a private art collection. The collection shows a journey through time to see the development in the art: Goya, Rembrandt, Piet Mondriaan, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh and Chagall. Ideal for people who want to quickly get an impression of the history of painting.

Retiro park

: An oasis of calm in the busy city, although especially at night and on Sundays very crowded. The park (without the never realized palace) has a large pond and a botanical garden.

Bernabéu

: The stadium of football club Real Madrid in 1947 with a capacity of 80,000 people. A must for the true football fan.
