Picos de Europa

: Beautiful mountains (national park) in northern Spain with the highest peak: Torre de Cerredo (2648 meters).

Pyrenees

: Boundary Mountains between France and Spain. A paradise for the active walker. The highest point is Mount Aneto (3404 meters) in the north of Aragon.

Sierra de Gredos

: Discover this relatively unknown area with many fauna and flora to the west of Madrid. The highest point is 2592 meters high (Plaza del Moro Almanzor) in the municipalty Candeleda.

Montes de Toledo

: Very sparsely populated area with the beautiful National Park Cabañeros as absolute highlight. In the Serengeti of Spain much wildlife is to be seen. You experience this landscape best with hiking or cycling.

Sierra Nevada

: This is the roof of the mainland of Spain with the Mulhacen (3482 m) as highest peak. You can even combine your skiing holiday with your beach holiday on the Costa del Sol. It is the highest mountain-chain in Western Europe after the Alps. The high mountains were formed during the Alpine folding-fase in the Tertiary.

Sierra de Guadarrama

: These mountains near Madrid and Segovia are a known outdoor area. The highest mountain is the Peña Lara with a height of 2430 meters. The peaks of this 80 kilometer long mountain range are relatively flat.

Sierra Morena

: Lower mountain-chain with different nature-parks on the border of Andalusia and Extremadura with many walking and cycling opportunities. In Aracena, you can visit a cave.

El Teide (Tenerife)

: The highest mountain in Spain is located on the Canary island of Tenerife and has a height of 3718 meters. The volcanic island includes the Teno mountains (in the west) and the Anaga mountains in the east.
